Published in 1866, ‘Crime and Punishment’ has been penned down by the famous Russian writer, Fyodor Dostoyevsky. It tells the story of a poor study as St. Petersburg who plans to kill a pawnbroker to steal her money. He tells himself that he will achieve good deeds to make up for the crime he committed. The theme of the book is redemption through suffering. The author explores this theme through different characters to teach us one ultimate thing: we become imprisoned when we start finding logical meaning to everything we do.
